ABOUT MARJORIE HEINRICH

A WARRIOR FOR SERIOUSLY INJURED PEOPLE

I began my career as an attorney defending insurance companies and their clients.  Working for these giant corporations, I learned what it takes to win major personal injury cases. I was so successful that in 2007, I was honored as the best personal injury defense trial attorney by the San Francisco Trial Lawyers Association.

In 2008, I sat as a juror on a murder trial.  It gave me a new perspective on our justice system. When it was over, I knew I needed to make a change – to fight for people who have been badly hurt and need my help.

Training “Behind Enemy Lines”

I don’t regret the time I spent “working behind enemy lines.”   Because I’ve been on the other side, I know how to beat my opponents at their own game because I used to sit in their chair.  Now, I use this insight to help my clients win, and win big.

I’ve always had the drive to win

Growing up in Southern California, I was an athlete.  In college, I swam competitively and played water polo for the Golden Bears at UC Berkeley. You can’t hide in those situations and I thrived under the pressure.

My drive to win is even stronger today because the stakes are much higher.

My clients have trusted their fate in me completely. What I recover for them can shape the quality of the rest of their lives.

This purpose fires me up every day. I know that my team and I must win because my clients’ lives depend on it.

Professional History
Starting our own firm to service clients the way they deserve

I founded Heinrich Law in August 2015, along with my partner Ethan Wimert and our senior paralegal Andrea Searby.  We have worked together for over a decade, winning well over $50 million on behalf of clients in personal injury claims.

Decades of experience and a track record of winning

Before starting Heinrich Law, I was managing trial attorney for a large Bay Area plaintiff’s side personal injury law firm. Prior to specializing in plaintiff’s side personal injury law, I was an insurance and corporate defense attorney for twenty years.

Over the past 30 years, I have tried numerous cases to verdict, arbitrated and mediated hundreds of cases, and successfully resolved countless matters prior to initiating litigation. I have also earned the distinct designation of “California Super Lawyer,” for the past several years, an honor limited to the top 5% of all practicing attorneys in California.

Doing what is right for clients

I am proud of my reputation for being adept at successfully resolving clients’ cases before ever having to file a lawsuit. My firm is absolutely willing to take cases to trial when necessary, and we do what it takes to win.  That said, I believe that when a pre-litigation settlement provides fair compensation for an injured party, it is better for the client to avoid litigation.  It diminishes their stress, reduces their time commitment to the case, and places more money in their pocket.

Giving back to my profession

Teaching is one of my passions, and I often teach trial and negotiation skills on a local and national level. I have served on numerous panels for Bay Area bar associations and have served as President of the Alameda-Contra Costa Trial Lawyers’ Association. I am also a graduate of the prestigious National Institute for Trial Advocacy.

Education and training

I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in 1983 from the University of California at Berkeley where I swam competitively and played water polo for the Golden Bears. I earned my JD degree in 1986 from Golden Gate University School of Law and have been licensed to practice law in California since 1986.

Getting to know Marjorie personally

When I’m not practicing law, I enjoy traveling domestically and internationally with my wife Jann Nunn, a Professor Emerita of sculpture and a professional artist; annually attending BOTTLEROCK and The New Orleans Jazz Fest; attending San Francisco Giants Baseball Games; swimming in the ocean with my brother, Admiral Mark Heinrich (Ret.) in our hometown of La Jolla; and hiking throughout Northern California.

If you have been severely injured because of the fault of another, please let us help you.
